Our blog posts are dedicated to sharing with you some of what we get to enjoy every day of the year at George Washington Inn & Estate. Whether you are looking for information about a specific topic, or whether you simply want to learn a bit more about this corner of the United States, you’ve come to the right place.

Providing luxury lodging on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State at the gateway to Olympic National Park is just the beginning of our service to our guests. We also offer custom vacation recommendations, brag about our favorite restaurants, assist with travel planning as needed, and answer a wide variety of questions from our guests. In turn, our guests share their experiences with us and with other guests when they return to the bed and breakfast each evening.

Unlike many parts of Washington State, the climate in the area surrounding George Washington Inn is nearly perfect! Located in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, the area between Port Angeles and Sequim is often referred to as the banana belt. We are blessed with sunny skies and moderate temperatures in the summer, brisk evenings with gorgeous days in the fall, mild temperatures and frequent sunshine even in the winter, and amazing spring flowers. Combine this with majestic snow-capped mountains to the south and expansive ocean views to the north. Then begin to consider the unlimited variety of things to see and do.

Each of our blog posts focuses on one small slice of our local natural beauty and adventure. We invite you to explore the area through the blog and then book your lodging in one of the rooms at George Washington Inn. Come and experience the Olympic Peninsula for yourself. And when you come back from a day of hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, antiquing, shopping, fishing, whale watching or whatever else you choose to do, your luxury accommodations, spa tub, and comfy robe will be waiting.
