Policies

Rates: All of our rates are per night, based on single or double occupancy, and include a hearty traditional breakfast. A third guest is permitted in Martha’s Suite at a rate of $50 per night (applicable tax is additional), but all other rooms have a maximum occupancy of two people.  All rates and policies are subject to change.

Minimum Stay:   A two-night minimum length of stay is requested.  Occasionally, particularly in the off-season, we may accept a single-night reservation.  During the peak season, there may be a room available for one night in between two longer reservations. If you have any questions about availability or need to request a single-night reservation, please call us.

Deposits: A full deposit is required for stays of 1-3 nights. A 50% deposit is required for stays of 4 nights or longer, with the balance charged three days prior to arrival. Deposits will be refunded (less a $50 cancellation fee per room) if cancellation is made at least 14 days prior to your arrival date. No refund is guaranteed if the cancellation is made less than 14 days prior to arrival but may be refunded if another guest books the room(s).

Check-in:  Check-in time is from 4 PM until 8 PM. Early or late arrival can only be accommodated by previous arrangement and may incur an additional fee.

Cancellations:  Due to our small size, cancellations have a significant impact. We have a strict 14-day cancellation policy in place.  Cancellations for any reason whatsoever (cancelling in full or in part, including shortening the reservation) within 14 days of arrival will result in forfeiture of any deposits, and any balance due will be charged. If the cancellation/change is made at least 14 days prior to your arrival date, your deposit will be refunded less a $50 processing fee per room. A no-show, late arrival, or early departure, due to any circumstance whatsoever (including weather), is considered a cancellation, as is any change in arrival or departure dates. Within the 14-day window, if we are able to rebook one or more nights of your cancelled reservation, we will provide an appropriate refund to you. We realize that cancellations are often beyond your personal control. For this reason you may wish to consider Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption Insurance to protect against any and all unforeseen eventualities including sudden illness in the family, airline & boat cancellations, any weather-related reason, etc.  George Washington Inn will be happy to supply your travel insurance company with any needed documentation regarding our policy and your reservation. Pets: We love pets. However, we cannot accommodate them in the Inn.

Age Requirements:  George Washington Inn is happy to accommodate younger travelers over the age of 16 when traveling with an adult over the age of 21. We reserve the right to cancel a reservation without refund if a guest arrives with a younger child.  

Excessive Cleaning / Damage In the rare event that a room or its contents are damaged due to guest negligence, we reserve the right to assess a cleaning fee or replacement charge equal to the fee required to resolve the damage.
